Hello everyone!
I think it’s only fair that I be the first one to introduce myself in here. (also given I am at this very moment of writing, the only user, or, the only one who knows about The Van Code)
My name is Tomas and I am a 33 year old guy from Denmark originally, who moved to Spain and then converted a bunch of vans including my own. I am currently living in a Mercedes Sprinter 170″ from 2012 with my buddy Loba (my pup).
I created The Van Code because it’s exactly what I would have wanted when I first started researching vanlife, and what I’d still love today as I continue to learn and connect with other vanlifers. There was no “one stop shop” that kinda had it all.

Hi Tomas, hope you’re well! My partner and I are moving to the UK from Australia and we are trying to buy a converted van in the UK which we’ll use to travel around the UK and Europe. We’re seeing a few models come up – Volkswagen Transporter, Renault Mater, Ford Transit (not looking at Mercedes Sprinters as they are out of our budget). Would you recommend any of these models? We were hesitant to get a Ford as we thought an EU car maker may have lower servicing costs in the EU vs a US made car.
